OnePlus Launches Nord CE 6 and Nord CE 6 Lite in India with Massive Batteries and 144Hz Displays
OnePlus Expands Mid-Range Smartphone Portfolio with Gaming-Focused Nord CE 6 Series
OnePlus has officially launched its new OnePlus Nord CE 6 series in India, introducing two new smartphones aimed at users looking for premium gaming performance, massive battery life, high-refresh-rate displays, and long-term software support at competitive prices. The company unveiled the OnePlus Nord CE 6 and the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite as part of its expanding Nord lineup, continuing its strong focus on the Indian mid-range smartphone market.
The latest Nord CE series arrives with several major upgrades over the previous generation, including large battery capacities of up to 8000mAh, 144Hz displays, OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, improved durability certifications, and gaming-oriented hardware features. OnePlus is positioning the new smartphones as devices built for entertainment, gaming, and heavy daily usage while maintaining aggressive pricing in the sub-₹35,000 segment.
The launch is also significant because it marks the return of the Nord CE Lite series after a gap of nearly two years. While the Nord CE 6 focuses on delivering near-premium performance and flagship-inspired features, the Nord CE 6 Lite targets budget-conscious buyers who still want high refresh rate displays and long battery life.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 Focuses on Gaming and Performance
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display featuring 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The company says the display is optimized for smooth gaming and multimedia experiences, offering high responsiveness and fluid animations. The screen also supports 3840Hz PWM dimming and improved brightness levels for better visibility in different lighting conditions.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, which is designed to provide improved gaming performance, faster multitasking, and better energy efficiency. OnePlus has also added a dedicated Touch Reflex chip that supports a 3200Hz instant touch sampling rate, aiming to deliver faster touch response during gaming sessions. The company claims the device supports gaming up to 144FPS for select titles.
The smartphone includes LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage technology, allowing quicker app launches and smoother performance during multitasking. To manage heat during extended gaming sessions, OnePlus has equipped the Nord CE 6 with an advanced vapour chamber cooling system spanning over 33,000mm².
One of the biggest highlights of the Nord CE 6 is its massive 8000mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries ever introduced in a OnePlus smartphone. The device supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging along with 27W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge other devices using the smartphone. According to OnePlus, the battery is designed to deliver extended usage for gaming, video streaming, and daily productivity without frequent charging interruptions.
Camera Features and OxygenOS 16 Enhancements
For photography, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 features a 50MP primary rear camera with dual-axis optical image stabilization support. The device also includes a secondary sensor for additional depth and portrait effects. On the front, the smartphone offers a 32MP selfie camera with autofocus support, designed to improve selfies and video calls. Both front and rear cameras support 4K video recording.
The smartphone runs on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and includes several AI-powered software features integrated with Google Gemini AI. OnePlus has added tools such as AI Portrait Glow, AI Perfect Shot, AI Eraser, AI Reflection Eraser, AI Unblur, AI Detail Boost, and AI Reframe. These features are aimed at improving photography editing and image enhancement directly on the smartphone without requiring third-party applications.
The company has also introduced stereo speakers in the Nord CE 6, bringing back dual-speaker support that was absent in some previous Nord CE models. Combined with the high refresh rate display, the stereo speaker setup is intended to deliver an immersive gaming and entertainment experience.
Nord CE 6 Lite Targets Budget Users with Big Battery and High Refresh Rate
Alongside the standard Nord CE 6, OnePlus also launched the Nord CE 6 Lite, a more affordable model designed for budget users who still want high refresh rate gaming and long battery life. The smartphone features a 6.72-inch Full HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Aqua Touch 2.0 technology, which improves touch response even when the screen is wet.
The Nord CE 6 Lite is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset and comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. OnePlus claims the smartphone can deliver stable gaming performance with support for up to 144FPS gameplay in supported titles and smooth BGMI gaming performance.
To keep temperatures under control, the device includes a large 5300mm² vapour chamber cooling system. The smartphone is equipped with a 7000mAh battery paired with 45W SUPERVOOC charging and bypass charging support, allowing users to power the phone directly while gaming without generating excessive heat.
The camera setup on the Nord CE 6 Lite includes a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor on the rear, while the front houses an 8MP selfie camera. The device also supports 4K video recording at 30FPS. Like the standard model, the Lite version runs OxygenOS 16 with Google Gemini AI integration.
Durability Becomes a Major Selling Point
OnePlus has significantly upgraded durability features across the Nord CE 6 series. The Nord CE 6 comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications for dust and water resistance along with MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification. These ratings are generally found in more expensive flagship devices, making the Nord CE 6 one of the most durable smartphones in its segment.
The Nord CE 6 Lite also features MIL-STD-810H certification along with splash and dust resistance. OnePlus appears to be targeting users looking for durable smartphones suitable for gaming, outdoor use, and heavy daily handling.
Pricing and Availability in India
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 starts at ₹29,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version is priced at ₹32,999. The smartphone will go on sale in India starting May 8 through Amazon India, OnePlus online stores, OnePlus Experience Stores, and major retail outlets.

Online Community Reactions Remain Mixed
The launch of the Nord CE 6 series has generated mixed reactions online. Many users on Reddit and social media praised the massive battery capacities, high refresh rate displays, and durability features. Gamers especially appreciated the 144Hz refresh rate and large battery upgrades.
However, some users expressed disappointment regarding the chipset choices, particularly the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor in the Nord CE 6. Several discussions compared the devices with similar Realme smartphones and questioned whether the hardware upgrades were sufficient compared to previous Nord models.
Despite the criticism, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 series strengthens the company’s presence in the competitive mid-range smartphone market. With gaming-focused features, giant batteries, fast charging, premium durability, and OxygenOS AI enhancements, the new Nord CE lineup aims to attract users looking for performance-heavy smartphones without entering flagship-level pricing territory.
